Brass is a yellow alloy obtained by adding copper to zinc. Some other elements that can be found in brass are tin, lead, nickel, manganese, iron, aluminum, arsenic, antimony and phosphorus. Brass is a very tough and easily processed material. Its machinability depends on the copper content in it. Brass containing less than 55% copper cannot be processed. It is available in the market as bars, flat bars, profiles containing 58% (MS58 quality) copper, pipes containing 63% (MS 63 quality) copper and plates containing 70% (MS 70 quality) copper. Brass material is mainly used in bolts, pins, screws, taps, door window handles, automotive industry, medical device manufacturing and decoration.
